I wii, you wii, we all wii, so we wii!
After months of waiting and checking shelves every time we shopped at Best Buy, Sams, Walmart, Sears (basically any store that might have sold a Wii) to no avail, we were finally in the right place at the right time. Friday night Mo and I went shopping at Walmart in Greenwood where we live. We had already checked the shelves-no Wii. But then it happened-they announced over the loudspeaker that there were 2 Wiis for sale. We did not hesitate to make our way back to the electronics section and get one. I was ready to be done with the perpetual Wii hunt!
Mo had been telling me I would like the Wii. He'd read all these reviews about how it's fun for the whole family and everyone loves it, even those (like me) who don't typically like video games. Still, I was skeptical. But I tried it anyway, and guess what? It's fun!
The Wii comes with a Wii sports game which includes tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. We've been doing the "training" for each sport. For those who aren't familiar with the Wii, it comes with a sensor so that you actually have to move the controller (for example, hold it like a baseball bat and actually swing) rather than just control it with buttons like other game systems. I think that's what makes it fun.
Tonight we had friends from church (the family that has sort of "adopted" us since we don't live near our own families). Everyone took a turn playing and seemed to have a great time. Truly, "fun for the whole family." So am I impressed with the Wii? Oui, oui!
