The quote of the day this past weekend:

"You realize you're going to have to hold your Wii in your lap, right?"

Say it out loud.

Pretty funny, huh?

We were riding back to Mo's parents' house from visiting my aunt Susan in Plano. She had given me bags and bags of clothes and goodies which filled the entire back seat of Mo's Mom's truck barely even leaving room for me to sit. As we were about to stop at Target to look for the Christmas gift Mo wanted (a Nintendo Wii, which is pronounced  like the word "we"), I posed the above question to him. I got a lot of laughter in response.

So, way back in September, Cara had LASIK surgery. We even said that we would post pictures soon... well, I don't think that 2 months later can really be defined as soon, do you?

Sorry about that. To alleviate all of the pain associated with having to wait that long to see pictures (sorry Heather!), we're going to go ahead and post those pictures now. In this first picture, you can tell that Cara is very sad because she hasn't had her surgery yet and has to wear glasses.

Cara is sad because she has to wear glasses.

Luckily, though, just a short time later (like a hour or two at the most), I was driving her back home in the car with her laser eyes (I like to call them laser eyes).

See that smile? She's so happy that she can see! She did have to wear some pretty goofy sunglasses for a while whenever she was outside, but it was a small price to pay to be able to have perfect vision. Here she is after we got home.

Cara, post LASIK surgery, and happy!

That last picture was cheating a little bit, because she was supposed to keep her eyes closed for around 3 hours after the surgery. So, off to bed she went, with her snazzy sleeping goggles on.

Cara's snazzy sleeping goggles.

I told her it looked like she had pilot's goggles on. She was supposed to wear those in case she tried to rub her eyes in her sleep or something. She also had to wear them to work for a while, so that all of the kids at work didn't try to touch her eyes. Luckily, she doesn't have to wear those anymore.

Just recently, she went for another follow-up appointment and her vision is now a little better than 20/20 even! She has pretty much convinced me that I need to get my eyes laserfied, too, so I'm planning on going in January sometime.
